The HO scale, 32 ‘x12’ Pine River RR is located in the Pacific Northwest and is an imaginary mid-1970s division of the Union Pacific. The Pine River RR was created when the UP purchased the “local” short line. UP power is used, but the Southern Pacific also runs a few through trains. The Pine River is one of the newest layouts in the Lansing area, and it is evident that its builder is a meticulous wood worker and craftsman. The benchwork is of the highest, state-of-the-art quality and a joy to view. In particular, note the design and construction of the swing gate at the entrance to the layout area. The precise trackwork is virtually complete and scenery is just starting. Nevertheless, quality workmanship is evident in the early structures on the layout. NCE DCC controls the layout.
