Railroads:

Operations Road Show:  The ORS will be hosting a Thursday evening op session for 12 people.  The session will run from 7:00PM to 10:00PM.  Guests need not bring anything with them and there is no experience necessary.  The Road Show has a first class operation using cars cards/waybills in the early 60s era.  The railroad is Dispatcher controlled using TT/TO in dark territory.  Whether you are new to operations or not, this is a great railroad to operate on and the ORS crew loves to teach you how to do it.  Home page:  http://railsonwheels.com/ors/opershow.shtml

Lansing Model Railroad Club:  The LMRC has an expanded Hogsback and Southern Railroad since the last time the NCR convention was held in Lansing and will be hosting a Thursday evening op session.  The session will last from 2-3 hours and can accommodate 6 guest crew members.  Club member conductors will be available to help road engineers get over the mainline and branches. Yard work, local switching and road trains are all a part of the mix as the club uses switch lists to move trains and do the work of railroading on the Mid-Michigan Division of the Hogsback and Southern. The op session will start at 7:00PM.  Home page: http://lmrc.org/

The Nashville Road:  The Nashville will be hosting 2 op sessions, one on Thursday evening at 7:00PM, and the other on Saturday afternoon at 1:00PM.  The sessions run 4 hours and can accommodate a guest crew of 18 people each session. The Nashville is Dispatcher controlled using TT/TO in dark territory and uses car cards/waybills for operations.  At this time, all trains run as extras (no timetable trains).  There will be a variety of road trains, local switchers and yard work in one of the 3 yards for our guest crews.  The era is 1956 and both steam and diesel power are used on the Nashville Division.  We love people new to operations and will be happy to teach you and have you work with a more experienced person if you would prefer.

Capital Area Railway Society:  The CARS Club layout will be located at the Convention site in the layout display room.  CARS Club members will host 2 op sessions, one each day, Friday and Saturday at 1:00PM and will last approximately 3 hours.  Each session can accommodate 4 guest crewmembers.  The railroad is operated with car cards/waybills and the crew will be happy to present a short clinic on their specific operations with car card/waybills before each session.
