This HO scale representation of the Canadian Pacific secondary mainline from Sudbury to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario fills a 49’x24′ basement. The upper level travels from Copper Cliff, which is just west of Sudbury, to Webbwood. Each end of the upper level accesses a double-ended fiddle yard where a “mole” will assemble and break down trains. The single-track Webbwood Sub includes several long passing sidings and the town of McKerrow, where a branch to the lower level meets the mainline. A five-level helix connects the lower level representing the branch from McKerrow toward the North Channel. An upper-level branch also penetrates far into industrial Copper Cliff. Scenic details are notable throughout the layout, and include rock cuts, bridges, water scenes, ground cover, and far too few trees. The DCC-controlled layout is being developed for operations featuring fast clocks, car cards, and timetable and train orders.
